‘When you can imagine you begin to create, and when you begin to create you realize that you can create a world that you prefer to live in, rather than a world that you are suffering in.’
These lines, written by Ben Okri, give me inspiration as lecturer, trainer and professional counsellor. I am Carin Beijer with over a twenty years of experience in working with people from all over the world.
After my master degree in social and organizational behaviour I specialized in management development, psychology and anthropology. As a lecturer in higher education I had assignments in the Netherlands, the People’s Republic of China (HEMCC) and the Republic of Surinam (FHR), focusing on leadership or managerial potential, teambuilding, empowerment and unlocking of talents. In my private practice I guide people in their personal learning needs as confidence building, stress management, unlocking of talents as well as coping with past traumatic experiences.
Currently I work as an guest lecturer and skills trainer for the Maastricht School of Management, the most globally networked management school in the world. For three years I was involved in Management Development Programs for EPADP, The Egyptian Public Authority for Drainage Projects.
As an assessor for iMMO, the institute for Human Rights and Medical Assessment, I contributed to the protection of human rights. I combine anthropological and organizational insides with psychological techniques and a mindful attitude.
Most of my projects targeting empowerment of organizations and individuals. I want to contribute to a world that embraces caring about others and seeks to work for the common good.
